The historic potentials of the Cossacks in Smolensk Oblast, Russia as an important component of national security

In a historical context are discussed the role and importance of Smolensk Cossacks, which in modern terms, remains the keeper of the centuries-old traditions of respect for mother earth, loyal service to the fatherland, patriotism, high sense of military duty and the Orthodox faith.

"Strategic Triangle" in US policy towards China in the period from 1972 to 1984

The main motive of the US for simplifying its relations with the People's Republic of China in the early 1970s. was the containment of Soviet expansion. Then, in the long term, the US decision in terms of relations with China was the "strategic triangle" of the United States, China and the Soviet Union. In recent years, there have been many reasons why the US began to adjust its policy towards China. The most important of these are the changes that have occurred in the Soviet Union.

The role of the psychological factor in the employment of adaptive physical culture and sports of an athlete with a disability

Adaptive physical training and sports by persons with disabilities require a systematic approach in the development of an optimal medical and social strategy. Social integration and the formation of the personal identity of an athlete with a disability must take place in strict observance of medical and biological characteristics. A qualitative approach in the training of a disabled sportsman includes a complex of medical and social aspects that show a high level of professional training both for the disabled athlete himself and for the social environment. A thoughtful approach is needed in the task of training athletes with disabilities to achieve sports results.

From the prehistory of the Cossacks

The article is devoted to the prehistory of the Cossacks, the first impulses of its formation as a unique community. It is shown that the origin of the Cossacks was associated with the army defending the borders of the Russian state, beginning with the first Rurikovichs. The distinctive features of the Cossacks as a military-corporate brotherhood were inherited by them from the border guards, and from the federates of Russia – Torques, Berendeys, Black Hoods, Cherkases. The craving for freedom was transferred to the Cossacks from the Brodniks. It strangely combined with the traditions of military solidarity, conciliarity and, ultimately, lost to them: the main strategic priority of the Cossacks began to serve the interests of the Russian state.

The international fight against the financing of terrorism (the second half of the 1990s - the mid-2000s)

Financing terrorism as money laundering against organized crime is a type of terrorist activity and an essential condition for its implementation and continuation. The article notes, accordingly, the efforts of the international community aimed at preventing and suppressing the financing of terrorism should be considered in the context of the overall fight against terrorism as one of its most important areas. At the same time, it should be taken into account that, in the absence of a generally accepted comprehensive definition of terrorism, the formation of the legal framework for cooperation of states in the fight against it concentrates on those areas where its manifestations pose the greatest danger to the interests of the international community.

The history of the development of control and supervisory activities in the field of education in the soviet period

The article analyzes the process of creation, formation and development of the system of control and supervision activities in the field of education in the Soviet period on the basis of the analysis of historical documents. The author concludes that the system of control and supervision activity passed several stages, among which one can distinguish the stage of the 1920s, the stage of the 1950s-1960s and the stage of the 1970s-1980s.Controlling all spheres of life of the Soviet society, the state actively controlled the system of education. However, given its uniformity and uniformity, the monitoring bodies performed ideological rather than technical and educational functions.

The history of relations between the state and religious denominations: old belief in the Middle Urals

Article considers one of the tragic episodes in the history of relations between the state and the Church: the Church split of the XVII century, which led to the emergence of such a social group as old believers. The author focuses on the features of the old believer settlements in the Middle Urals, the life of various old believer agreements, their participation in the great Patriotic war.

“Binary star” of Sevastopol

The present article deals with question of origin and development in the domestic public consciousness of the theme of the continuity of the two defenses of Sevastopol: in 1854-1855. and in 1941-1942. Focusing on the materials of fiction, research embodies them in a broad palette of the evolution of scientific and socio-political attitudes from the mid-20th century to the present. Questions about the place and significance of Sevastopol in the historical memory of Russian society are touched upon.
