On the service of the Terek Cossack Army (1735 - 1796) in the North Caucasus, according to the documents of the TsGARD

This article reconstructs one side of the history of the Russian Cossacks in the 18th century on the basis of authentic archival documents of the local archive. The basis of these documents are the records of the military unit - Kizlyar civil - commandant's office and the marching office of Lieutenant-General A.P. Devits. Russian Cossacks in the 18th century in the North Caucasus were represented by three Cossack armies: the Greben Terek and the Terek-family Cossack armies. This article will examine the service of one of the Cossack armies-the Terebny Cossack Army under the command of Major-General Prince Elmurza Bekovich Cherkassky and the Terek Family Cossack Army. Due to the fact that the Terek Cossack Troops under the command of Prince Cherkassky was smaller than other Cossack units, the command of Major-General Prince E. Cherkassky was exempted from military service and entrusted to perform other activities. Basically, it was an administrative and economic service. The revival of the Cossacks as an important socio-political phenomenon

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Cossack revival movement quickly became one of the most pressing problems of modern Russia. Being an important social and historical phenomenon, the Movement attracted the attention of Russian politicians and also became the subject of research in Russian academic circles. Unlike their colleagues, Chinese academics have not paid enough attention to this topic, and at present, research on Cossack issues is also in its infancy. This article examines the Cossack revival movement as an object of study, analyzes its prerequisites and motives in order to better understand this socio-political phenomenon, as well as the Cossacks as a whole as a special group in modern Russia. According to the author, Cossack history and culture are an important cultural and historical part of the whole country, and attention and study of the Movement is an important perspective for studying the transformation of Russia. As a result of the study, conclusions were drawn that the energetic movement for the revival of the Russian Cossacks from the mid-to-late 1980s initially developed from the bottom up, the source of motivation for the Movement was the recognition by the Cossack group of its own history and culture, and the prerequisites and impulse for its external development directly depended from supporting national policy, in addition, the Cossack Union played an important role wherever the Cossack revival movement developed.
