Cossack atamans contribution to the geopolitical strengthening of Russia

This paper examines the relationship between the practice of internal management communities Cossack atamans implemented, and opportunities to attract Cossacks to solve geopolitical problems of the state. This unique experience allowed the Cossacks led by chieftains not only discover new lands, but also to organize the protection of such areas.

History and traditions of Cossacks - the basis of patriotic education of youth

Questions of patriotic education, familiarization of young people with rich cultural traditions, instilling in her love for the homeland, village, farm, education of pride for their glorious ancestors - Cossack military units, involvement in the history of the Cossacks and their families - all this is one of the main directions of the Russian state relation to the Cossacks.
The process of the revival of the Russian Cossacks that began 20 years ago put us in front of the fact: post-revolutionary researchers wrote about the Cossacks from the standpoint of class, ideological, when much was distorted. And, it would seem, was put a fat point on the Cossacks, its history, merits before the Fatherland. That’s why we felt an acute shortage of historical knowledge about the Cossacks.
